I’m Emily and have been in recovery of gambling since the beginning of 2025.

Having had a child in 2022, I felt the time I had on my hands could be best spent by providing for family the best I could, but maternity pay did not go a long way, so I fell in the world of quick wins by entering competitions, online, radio and lottery apps. Spending the precious “me time” clicking on my phone, texting or watching for competitions spending money that I had, without any big returns.

My mindset changed when my family pointed out concerns ,especially on where money was being spent and put me in touch with Gamcare and later Reframe  Coaching, who helped provided me with knowledge and retaining my values, boundaries and self care allowing me to see that I can provide these things to my child and family by saving monthly and starting to them  and myself first. 

I now enjoy my spirituality, my nature walks, yoga and finding peace of mind in the silence.
